The Jane Gibson Project
Welcome.
Jane Gibson Evans (1665-1730’s) lived in Charles City County, Virginia. She was the daughter of a free born “Indian woman”, named Jane Gibson. Her mother was a healer at Shirley Plantation.
Jane had a large family with her husband, Morris Evans (1665-1730’s).
Her family’s story is a remarkable illustration of resilience in the face of change.
